The water environment is a precious resource, and West County Wastewater District is in the business to protect it. Our efforts to spread the word include educating students about environmental responsibility and the role the District plays in keeping our water environment clean. The District's Student Outreach Program includes school classroom visits and tours of the District's wastewater treatment plant. Over 1,000 local school children between grades four through seven participated in the program last year. Anyone interested in the District's Student Outreach Program may contact Donna Dessoir at (510) 237-6603. The District may even provide bus transportation for school children. Tours of the District's wastewater treatment plant may also be provided to interested residents, youth groups, businesses or other organizations by contacting the District. |
