More than 1 billion people do not have access to clean water and 2.6 billion do not have access to basic sanitation services. World Water Day on March 22 aims to bring focus to the importance of water as one of the world’s most valuable resources and the vital role it plays in our day-to-day lives.

West County Wastewater invites the community to join us in protecting, advocating for, and responsibly managing our water resources. At WCW, we are dedicated to supporting a sustainable water future. We ensure all water released from our Water Quality and Resource Recovery Plant is safe for reuse or to return to the environment, protecting the San Francisco Bay. Nearly all of our discharged water is used as recycled water for industrial purposes, saving valuable drinking water and lessening the burden on local supplies. WCW encourages the community to play an active role in promoting water sustainability by looking for ways to conserve water in their daily lives. Click on the link below to read the full proclamation. Learn more about World Water Day at www.worldwaterday.org.
