This time, even closer to home with at least 7 people killed in Half Moon Bay and one person killed, and 7 injured in Oakland. WCW Joins Coalition to Urge Wipes Manufacturers to Properly Label Products
WCW has joined with 43 other Sanitation Districts and environmental groups to send a letter to the manufacturers of wipes (baby wipes, disinfectant wipes, etc.) urging them to label their products truthfully and correctly. WCW's Environmental Services Manager, Joe Neugebauer, had this to say about the effort, “These products foul our pumps and other critical equipment, and it is time for manufacturers of wipes to do their part by following through on the requests in this letter. No consumer should be confused about how to dispose of any product, especially a single-use product that has severe consequences when disposed of [...]

2021 Ella Hill Hutch Award Winners
West County Wastewater (WCW) is proud to announce that Board of Director’s President and honoree, Cheryl Sudduth, has been recognized for her extraordinary contributions as a civic leader and received the Ella Hill Hutch Award at a virtual award ceremony presented by Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA) on November 4. The prestigious award is named after American politician, Ella Hill Hutch, who was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1977 and reelected in 1980.
